Home for the summer [May. 16th, 2007|12:42 am]

Man I'm really bad at this whole updating my livejournal thing. So much has changed since December when I last wrote something. Where to begin... well first there is Kristy my girlfriend, I joined a fraternity Phi Kappa Tau which I should have done along time ago, and finally I get to go racing this summer which makes me super excited. Other than that not much has changed besides not being in Mount Pleasant which is killing me. I know Monroe isn't that bad of town but now days it isn't home like Mount Pleasant is. I really miss that town right now and August needs to hurry up and get here.

So it's been awhile since I last wrote a post actually 3 months to be exact. Not much has changed since last time I posted. I'm 21 though which has mae for some fun times recently. Other then that it's the same ol' same ol'. Oh some good news. It looks like i'll be racing next year!! A friend of the family is looking into sponsoring me just because he wants to see me back out there racing. How cool is that? Well to whom ever reads this Merry Christmas!

Another sleepless night [Sep. 21st, 2006|02:17 am]

Well I have an eight am class tomorrow morning but guess what? I can't sleep. Yippee! So it's been over a month since my last post and there is so little to actually fill you in on. The RA life is good for those of you who were wondering if any. It's been a weird change I won't lie but a good change I hope. I've learned a lot about myself the last few weeks which is always good. Enough about that though. Now to the real reason I can't sleep. Last Friday was a very interesting day to say the least. My roommate from last year Ryan came up to visit from Indiana and it was really good to see him. However I hate to say it that was not the best part of the weekend. Sorry Ryan. However something that happened while hanging out with Ryan at least added some excitement to my weekend. We went bowling and somehow I that right I Corey Petee got a girls phone number. I know yes it must have been a cold day in hell but hey. So I called this person and I feel like I embarrassed myself like a middle school boy trying to call a girl for the first time. It was bad. Oh well we'll see what happens but for now I think my happy ass is going to try and get some sleep.

Back at CMU [Aug. 13th, 2006|02:05 am]
I've been back here at CMU since last week and i'm glad to be back. As of right now things are going good training isn't too hard yet and it's been good catching up with everyone but it has been strange with how quite the hall is with only 5 of us here. I realize it's been awhile since I last posted but thats because i'm a boring person and there really isn't much to talk about. Tonight however I was able to hangout with some people that I haven't seen since june. Danny, Sara, and I watched the RHPS (Rocky Horror Picture Show) and had fun. It was also fun going out to the cabin and seeing Jason who was my roommate my freshmen year and hanging out with Keith my floor partner and Neil who is Merrill's MA for this upcoming year. I also got to see Joe and Bj who I haven't seen since Dave and Tracy's wedding. Ahh good times good times. Well thats enough rambling.

Where has the summer gone? [Jul. 19th, 2006|01:06 pm]
I'm sitting here looking at the clock before I have to go to work and it hits me I have three weeks till I go back to school and I can't wait. It will be a new experience being an RA but it will be a fun one I think. My floor partner and I are both going to be first year RA's so it will be interesting to say the least. It also hit me sitting here that this most likely will be the last year of me working at Milan Dragway which is kinda sad because I have worked there for four years now and now i'm down to the last two weeks of me working there. Oh well it's time for a change I guess. So my summer has been pretty boring if you think about it pretty much all i've done is work which is fine by me. Hopefully here in the next few weeks i'll be going to S.C. to see a friend that I haven't seen since she violated the hoopty lol. Well thats all I have for right now take care everyone and for those who attend CMU I can't wait to see everyone.

Today was the last day of classes in my sophomore year of college. Wow it's hard to believe that i'm pretty much half way done with my college experiece and I wouldn't change a thing. However in the next few weeks it's going to get a little emotional around here. My roommate Ryan is graduating after spending seven years here in Merrill Hall he has done so much for me this year and I can never repay him. One of my closest frineds and the man i've come to call Dad up here is leaving as well. I don't know how he did it but Drew put up with me for two years now with me pretty much living in his room second semester last year. I also can never repay him for all he's done for me whether it be me talking to him for hours on end on how stressed I was to me just bitching about different things. It's going to be a weird change next year not having either of these two gentlemen around. All I can hope is that while i'm an RA in Merrill I can help out someone as much as they have helped me out. I know that sounds cheesy but hey it's coming from Petee what did you expect. So besides that i've come to terms that this year living at home is going to be a little strange. For the first time in 4 years Holly and I are both going to be living at home. It's going to be great to hang out with my sister all summer long but it's just going to be weird you know? Wow i've writen a novel tonight. One more thing then i'll call it a night. Tonight I ran my last desk meeting as the asst desk manager it's kinda sad because there is no better community then the one of the Merrill Deskies. It turns into a family, yes we have had our disagreements and our triumphs and all I have to say is guys I wish you all the best for those leaving and those staying on staff. I just hope I didn't do to bad of a job for you guys.

I have come to a conclusion that for those of you that know me knows true, I work too damn much. I realized last week alone along with classes and everything else I put in 37 hrs at work. Thats alot if you think about most shifts are two or three hours. So I definately feel that onces schools over for the semester i'm going to take a week to myself and do somethings that I want to do. Do a little roadtrip and who knows what else but it should be nice and relaxing before I go back into work mode and work alot of the summer at Milan Dragway.

So after a nice 9 hours of sleep i'm back working the desk. Yippeeee! So as one of my friends informed me I did not say anything about my intresting night I had before working my 7-10 shift. Let's just say that the hoopty's seen better days. I don't feel like embarassing the person that it happened too cause I think i've picked on her enough about it. So this will be the first Easter ever sprnt away from my family and it's a little weird i'm not gonna lie. Oh well all great streaks must come to an end right? Well thats about all I got for right now. Happy Easter everyone.

So I guess my roommate Ryan did this back in oh November but I didn't see it till today so since he wanted to see my responses to this quiz here we go.

So on this great mid to 4am shift this morning I have found out a lot. First off it is offically time for softball between the Merrill Men played for the first time yesterday and man did it feel great to be back on the feild. However that is not the curveball I am talking about. A certian someone brought somethings to my attention on this shift which caught me by surprise I not gonna lie. It was truly that curveball that came from left field. Now i'm not saying i'm complaing actually I was quit flattered.Wow is all I really have to say. Well it's nearing the end of my shift and theres so many things running through my head.

it's been awhile [Mar. 22nd, 2006|01:10 am]

Well it's been awhile since my last post so there is so much to say. First off I realize from my last post I was discussing RA interview process and such. Well I got a job!!! I am going to be an RA in Merrill Hall for next year so it looks like my whole college experience will be spent in one residence hall. You would not believe how many people have yelled at me for not telling me that I got a RA position. It's to believe that it's already almost the end of the year. If you think about it after this week there is only 5 more weeks of classes. With the end of the year comes an end of an era here at CMU Ryan Phillips will officially graduate and his seven year stay in Merrill will be complete. It's been great living with him this year i've learned so much from him which will help me while i'm an RA. One thing I have officially realized is that I SUCK at physics! I think it's safe to say I will be getting my worse grade in college this semester. I don't think i'm going to fail the class but it's going to be close. DAMN BATMAN. Another thing to bring up while i'm rambling is that i'm single again. Yeah go me. :( Well that's enough for my once a month posting.

So this morning i'm working a 7-10am shift on two hrs of sleep why you might ask? Well I couldn't sleep last night due to things running through my head. First this week starts RA interviews and my first one is with Merrill/Thorpe here in the south quad. I have two other interviews later in the week then it's a waiting game to see who picked me up if anyone. Then there is this whole little holiday called Valentines Day which I can't wait to spend with Allie. I just hope she likes what I have planed. Only time will tell though with both of these. Oh and most important it's my mothers birthday today! Mary's getting up there in age even though you prolly couldn't guess her age from looking at her. Oh well that enough rambling for one post.

so I haven't updated this in awhile and I figured I should. So two days after my last post I finally asked Allie out so it's been a little over a month offically. Being back at school is great i've realized how great of friends I have up here and how much fun we have. So there is another thing thats new I turned in my RA app last monday and the process begins in one week to see which halls would like to interview me for a postition wish me luck. Well I should get some sleep before BATMAN'S class in the morning.

So it's that time of year finals begin tomorrow, the late night cramming, stressing, and ofcourse the feeling of bombing a test have already started to set in. Is that bad? Wow I just realized how long it's been since I updated my LJ. Things really haven't changed much since my last post excpet i've hit that part of the year where I being to lonely which normaly last till just past valentines day.(the worst day of the year). Oh well it happens. Is it bad that I really don't want to go home for break? I mean yes I miss my family and such but still it's monroe. Atleast while i'm at home I'll beable to work on my RA application so who knows I might get to add another title to my college career. From Merrill Hall Council VP to Asst. Desk Manager then maybe RA, who knows.

Fun Time [Oct. 31st, 2005|12:26 am]

So this weekend was great I got to spend time with my family and my friends here. Friday night I went with a large group of friends to the Rocky Horror Picture Show @ the Broadway Theater. It was so much fun because Dave, Dave, and I were some of the only people who knew lines to say. We nailed a few of them and made the whole place laugh. Saturday was great because my family came up. It was the first time since I moved in freshman year my parents came up and the first time this year for my sister Holly. We went to the football game where the Chippewas beat those damn Rockets for the first time since 98 and took control of the mac west. Then later that night we went out to eat and to the casino. You know i didn't feel bad losing my parents money. I also went back to see RHPS again that night with Drew, Missy, Rach, Erica, Jess, Eric, and others. The sad parts is I lost my voice oh well it happens.

So this weekend i'm going home on friday night to see the family and friends. Then on saturday can you say DETROIT BASKETBALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's only the preseason I know but still they're playing the Heat. Oh and some good news from this week I am the new Merrill Hall Assistant Desk Manager. I must have done something right in the interview. Well I should get back to work.

Homecoming week and weekend [Oct. 16th, 2005|02:03 am]

So at the start of this week I was streesed out due to my desk manager interview and other things. It was great to have alot of time to myself this weekend to sit back and relaxe. CMU won it's first homecoming game since 1998 and U of M won by a td pass as time expired. It was a great day of college football. Theres only one thing that could have and would have made this weekend better and that would have been to see and hang out with Allie. I'm looking forward to this weekend coming up can anyone say Piston's vs Heat. Then the weekend after that it's UT vs CMU so hopefully the family will be coming up I know my sister Holly is just so she can root for the rockets. I already lost to one sisters school it won't be good if I lose to both.

I was so happy friday night Allie and I got to hang out for more than twenty minutes. Our alone time got interrupted by her roommates needing a ride home you can guess why. It was great seeing her.
Today we showed our room to tour groups for CMU and You day. Our room kicks ass there is no other way to describe it. It's got that cabin feeling to it. Well it's time for me do one of my favorite things SLEEP.

So i'm starting to hit the point of being lonely yet again this year. This sucks I know I shouldn't feel lonely because of all the great friends I have but theres just something missing you know what I mean? Then tallking to Andrea it hit me even more. Oh well it happens.
